Dr Alex Louie is an Associate Professor and Clinician Scientist in Radiation Oncology at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, University of Toronto. He has published widely through clinical trials, comparative effectiveness, economic evaluation, and technology appraisal in lung, kidney, and oligometastatic cancers. Following Medical and Radiation Oncology residency training at Western University in London, ON, Canada, he obtained an MSc in Epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health and a PhD cum laude from the VU University, Amsterdam. He is the co-chair of the ISRS Guideline and Webinar committees. He has held a number of international leadership roles, including with the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, American Society for Radiation Oncology, Canadian Cancer Trials Group, American Society for Clinical Oncology, and the Canadian Pulmonary Radiotherapy Investigators group. He is member of the Lancet Oncology International advisory board and serves as a lung cancer associate editor for the International Journal of Radiation Oncology Biology Physics.
