Dr. Arjun Sahgal is a global leader in high precision stereotactic and adaptive radiation to the brain and spine. He is the Chief of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Toronto affiliated Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre. He has published over 700 peer reviewed papers, 40 international guidelines specific to SRS/SBRT and his H-index is 86. He has given over 200 lectures as an invited international speaker and trained 20 fellows. He has been instrumental in raising a total of ~$50M in grant and philanthropic funding to support central nervous system research at Sunnybrook. In addition to leading several international research consortia, he has served as co-Chairperson of the AOSpine Tumour Knowledge Forum and currently the President of the International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society (ISRS). His next phase of research is in the development of MR Linac adaptive RT for GBM, CT-adaptive radiotherapy, automated vertebral fracture risk prediction and he leads the ongoing Canadian randomized trial of SBRT vs. conventional radiation for non-spine bone metastases (CCTG SC-29). He has been awarded several national and international recognitions including the King Charles III coronation medal.
