Geoff graduated from Sydney University in 1985 ultimately specialising in Nuclear medicine and with gaining accreditation in Ultrasound, Positron Emission Scanning and Cardiac CT.
He is employed at Royal North Shore hospital. RNSH is a key site providing theranostic services to NSW and is a recognised centre of excellence in Neuro-endocrine tumours (NETs) . He is experienced with lutetium-based therapy for NETs and prostate cancer as well as iodine based therapy for thyroid cancer.
He has contributed to the speciality in many roles over the years most recently as President of the Australasian Association of Nuclear Medicine Specialists as well as on the NSW Postgraduate Medical Council, HIC Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Committee, NSW Radiation Advisory Committee and the Australian Drug Evaluation Committee and subsequently the Advisory Committee on Prescription Medicines.
He was a key contributor to the Australasian Association of Nuclear Medicine Specialists (AANMS) Position Statement on the Practice of Theranostics in Australia covering standards on the appropriate provision of theranostics (which covers prostate cancer) in Australia. He is a co-author on almost 100 scientific papers.
He is a grandparent to two grandchildren, a keen if not so effective soccer player and isn’t averse to a wee dram of whisky now and then.
