Professor Paul Keall is an NHMRC Leadership Fellow and Director of the Image X Institute at the University of Sydney, a centre dedicated to innovation in radiation therapy and cancer imaging technologies. His research has led to the development of advanced technologies for managing respiratory motion during treatment, enabling greater precision in treatment delivery. These innovations have been evaluated in clinical trials such as TROG 17.03 Liver Ablative Radiotherapy and TROG 15.01 Stereotactic Prostate Adaptive Radiotherapy, both utilising Kilovoltage Intrafraction Monitoring (KIM) to track and adapt to patient motion in real time. Professor Keall collaborates closely with industry partners to translate research into clinical practice, improving outcomes for patients undergoing high-precision cancer treatments.
